Chris Bailey’s sleeping bag drive is saving the lives of people experiencing homelessness.
Having access to a warm sleeping bag in freezing temperatures can mean the difference between life and death.
Thanks to donations from generous individuals, Chris has been able to help hundreds of people.
Through his Facebook page, Everybody Love Everybody, he highlights the importance of offering kindness to those in need. Chris also does many other drives to help people.
“I just want to make today a little better than yesterday, and a sleeping bag can change someone’s life. In fact, it can save their life,” says Chris.
Fearless road-tripping auntie offers comfort and hope to millions of women.
Su Min is famously known on social media as a “road-tripping auntie”.
Su Min had spent the majority of her life fulfilling her family’s expectations and abiding by traditional gender roles. But now she has decided to embrace a new identity.
After escaping an abusive marriage, she has been on a 180,000km solo drive across China. Her video diaries have gained massive attention on social media platforms, inspiring other women to walk out of abusive relationships and embrace the possibility of a better life.
She has become a hero for women who feel trapped in their lives.
“I want to tell you that no matter how old you are, as long as you work hard, you will definitely find your answer. Just like me, even though I’m 60 now, I found what I was looking for,” said Su Min.
A dog’s incredible journey inspires people across the globe.
When he was a year old, Dexter lost his right front paw following a tragic accident. But he refuses to be limited by his disability.
Despite the physical challenges, Dexter was determined to pick himself up. He defied all expectations by learning to walk on his hind legs.
Dexter’s determination to move in a new way is inspiring people around the world. His owner Kentee Pasek receives messages of gratitude and appreciation from people all over the world who are going through tough situations.
“I really think he [Dexter] would say that no problem is actually insurmountable it’s how we view the problem,” said Kentee.
Young people are rediscovering their passion for books.
Over the past few years, there has been a rise in the popularity of physical bookshops.
Young readers are eager to be in a physical store and embrace the visceral joy of reading.
There’s something beautiful about the experience of visiting a bookstore that can’t be found through e-book apps. Bookshops are also places of gathering, where people can build connections and find a sense of community.
“I think that reading, especially books like these that are meant to bring you joy, meant for you to finish the book and be happier than when you started reading are what people are really gravitating to right now,” said author Katharine McGee.
