Creating genuine human connections is easier than you think.
Patience, empathy, and openness pave the way for more authentic connections in today’s fast-paced world.
I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship. – Brené Brown

Redevelopment project aims to improve shelter animals’ lives.
RSPCA in New South Wales, Australia, is home to 400 rescued animals.
The organization’s new initiative is focused on creating landscape gardens that provide a welcoming environment for both animals and human visitors.
The garden space gives animals a safe, stimulating environment that meets their needs and makes shelter life more enjoyable.
Having plenty of outdoor space can enhance the animals’ well-being and increase their chances of being adopted.
“The ultimate thing that we’re aiming at is getting these animals a second chance. And so, as a result, to see a doubling of those figures, simply because of the garden space here, it’s paying dividends every day,” said Brendon Neilly, RSPCA NSW’s Executive Manager of Animal Care Services.
An interaction between an autistic man and a state trooper promotes acceptance.
When Blake Lagerstrom was driving home from work, his usual route was blocked due to a road closure.
Blake has autism and was having a bit of trouble navigating his way through the obstacle. That’s when state trooper Jordan Barile approached him and gave him instructions on how to back up and turn around.
Jordan calmly reassured him. Her empathetic response was captured on Blake’s dash cam. The video went viral, garnering praise from people all over the world.
April is Autism Awareness Month. And this video proves how even a small moment of compassion can foster understanding and acceptance for people with autism.
“There is hope for autistic people. And the problem needs to be fully understood and brought to an even broader awareness level,” said Blake.
Community helps a beloved local bookstore move its stock to a new location.
A sight to behold!
Over 300 people in the town of Chelsea, Michigan, showed up to help a local bookstore move to its new location.
By forming a human conveyor belt that stretched 350 feet, the community helped move over 9,000 books in just under two hours!
They passed the books one by one to the correct shelves in Serendipity Books’ new store.
There’s something truly magical about witnessing the powerful connection between people when they step up to make a positive impact.
Community Center is transforming traditional views of retirement.
GenSpace in Koreatown, Los Angeles, offers a welcoming environment where the elderly can thrive.
This community center encourages seniors to explore their creative side and learn new skills.
From painting, dancing, singing, to drumming, people from all walks of life are provided with the opportunity to share their passions.
By embracing new adventures, the seniors are able to forge new relationships while disrupting negative stereotypes about aging.
“Older people are often in isolated circumstances. They’re discarded by society, so to speak, retired from professions. That was something that I wanted to remedy in my way so that isolation would turn to inclusion,” said founder Wallis Annenberg.
